Most people have never worked with a health coach before.
They come in expecting something like a dietitian or personal trainer — someone who hands them a plan and sends them on their way.
I'm not here to tell you what to do and cross my fingers you figure out how to do it.
There's so much more to long-term success than a meal plan or macro recommendations (you'll get neither from me).
Here's why coaching is the missing puzzle piece:
Targeted education
I know you get lots of health and diet tips on the internet. And you've tried all the supplements and superfoods known to man. At some point it gets a little tiring, because it isn't actually moving the needle. It's my job to filter out the noise so you can focus your precious energy and resources on ONLY what works. In the exact sequence that makes most sense. You need clarity, not just more ideas.
Fair warning: my approach is unconventional. Not "just try harder at what you're already doing." That's kind of the point. If what you've been told is healthy actually worked, you wouldn't be here. Be ready to go a little rogue — and love every second of it!
Help from a human
Most of my clients have tried many, many a time to "get healthy." Some things work for a while, but aren't easy to maintain. Other things don't work at all. They start thinking it's themselves that's the problem. But it's not. They didn't have the right support to help them figure it out and sustain it.
Motivation
You want to do something, but you don't actually want to do it. You want to want to do it. Or maybe you're motivated for a little while, but it's hard to stay motivated. It's not you. This is solvable.
Accountability
Some attempts start off successful but just kinda... fade. Other parts of life demand our time and attention and the plan disintegrates. How to keep yourself accountable is a huge part of coaching.
Problem solving
Ever had someone say, "You just need to....!" You'll never hear me say that. Advice is rarely helpful. You need someone who will brainstorm, consider options, and problem solve WITH you, not just hurl advice AT you.
A plan
Does anyone else cringe when they think about "goal setting?" You're not alone - I cringe too! And yet, it's a big part of my job. Which is good news for you, because we do it together. We talk both long-term goals (results) and short-term goals (plans for getting there). Every week you get to tell me what you want to focus on, and we craft a plan for that week - specific, realistic, and manageable.
Someone who sees
Sadly, most of us aren't well practiced in seeing progress. Noticing what's working. Celebrating wins. But that's part of my job too! We don't get to our big long-term goal in one leap, we get there by tiny steps of forward progress over time. And if you don't appreciate the steps you've already taken and the distance you've already come, you'll just see the steps ahead and get discouraged. I leave the pace up to you - some people want to move quickly, some people need to move slowly - as long as you're moving in the right direction, you'll get there! And I'll make sure you don't miss the progress you're making along the way.
I'm a high-touch, full-access coach.
I don't put limits on sessions or messages because I trust you know what you need, and I'm here - available, present, and ready to show up for you throughout the whole process.
I don't expect you to already know how to do it.
I will help you learn.
I don't expect you to figure out the application on your own.
I will help you figure it out.
I don't expect you to have full confidence.
I will help you prove to yourself, in tangible and intangible ways, that you absolutely can get the health you want.
That's why I'm here, and what I am confident we will achieve together.
