If you have type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, you need to know this:
It doesn't have to keep getting worse, and you don't have to be stuck with it the rest of your life.
Anyone can improve their blood sugar and insulin sensitivity.
In fact, I've seen plenty of people improve so much that their doctors told them they'd reversed it.
I'm guessing you've been following the guidelines faithfully for years. Oatmeal. Non-dairy milks. Spinach and protein powder smoothies. Whole wheat bread. Low-fat yogurt. Egg white omelets. Lentil soup. Hummus. Chicken breast and turkey. Brown rice and quinoa. Sweet potatoes. And the occasional splurge you feel guilty about.
Careful with portions. Nice and balanced.
And yet here you are.
While I can't predict, or promise, any particular outcome, I can tell you this:
The body responds and heals when it gets what it needs.
Every single time.
I'm Elena Evans, a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and Certified Master Primal Health Coach.
In a former life I spent 10 years working in healthcare settings in Seattle as a sign language interpreter — long enough to watch way too many people struggle with their health, try their hardest to make changes, and still end up with diagnoses they didn't want, medications that helped but didn't heal, and a growing sense of powerlessness against a body that seemed to be working against them.
I want you to know that it doesn't have to be this way. Really.

And guess what?
Blood sugar dysregulation and insulin resistance are not just a medical concern— they make you feel super crappy.
So you bet'cher britches you're going to feel a whole lot better when you fix this at the root.
Feel better how exactly? Glad you asked!
✨ Feel better refreshed in the morning.
✨ Feel better energized in the afternoon.
✨ Feel better when you move.
✨ Feel better when you rest.
✨ Feel better in your joints, in your gut, and in your mind.
✨ Feel better in your clothes, and in your skin.
✨ Feel better in relationship to yourself, and to others.
✨ Feel better in the short run, and in the long run.
And yes — your numbers.
I know we like to focus on data goals—weight, bloodwork, or some other measurable metric.
Here's what we forget: they're all in service to the SAME thing.
Your best experience of health.
Numbers do often improve, usually significantly.
But numbers are sneaky.
Yes they improve when you go upstream, do the work, and address the root cause. That's the best kind of shift. The numbers become a reflection of your entire system working better as a whole.
But numbers can also be hacked – there are plenty of ways for getting a number to shift by compensating for a system that's still broken.
This is why I chose to become a coach, not a clinician →
Your body knows the difference. When you're actually healing, you feel it.
In your body, every day.
Yes, I'm one of those crazies that thinks you can have it all.
Not necessarily in the bikini-bod in 6 weeks sense.
In the sense of having a metabolism that hums along every day like a strong diesel engine, in a body that beautifully self-regulates its fat stores, energy levels, and appetite.
In the sense of having confidence you're not drifting hopelessly towards inevitable disease, and knowing exactly what levers you can pull to maintain (and even gain back) a body that just... works.
Knowing what inputs our ancient human machinery requires, and which inputs are (unknowingly) throwing a monkey wrench in the whole thing.
And knowing HOW to do it all in a modern context, without going off the grid, farming all your own food, or spending your whole paycheck at Whole Foods.
And my personal favorite:
Finally accessing peace, comradeship, and joy in this body you claim as your own.
